Doe Explains fusion Energy Science
Experiments and activities are presented through online Inquiry Flipcharts. Levels K through 5 student books have pages for recording and evaluating lab work. Lab activities, lab manuals, and data sheets for grades 6 through 8 are online rather than within student worktexts. In order to protect the health and safety of employees, staff, and students, all those who access Pasco County School locations must self-screen for symptoms and other risk factors of COVID-19 daily. If you answer YES to any of the questions, you should NOT be on a school campus or school district office. All three self-screeners – the Student Self-Screener, the Employee Self-Screener, and the Visitor Self-Screener – are accessible from the district’s COVID-19 protocols page and are posted on each school web page.
Organic chemistry is a two semester elective that introduces the student to the chemistry of carbon-containing compounds. Topics will include structure, nomenclature, and synthesis of the major class of organic compounds. This course is designed for an advanced chemistry student and will lay a solid foundation for college organic chemistry. Scientific terms can be confusing.DOE Explainsoffers straightforward explanations of key words and concepts in fundamental science. It also describes how these concepts apply to the work that the Department of Energy’s Office of Science conducts as it helps the United States excel in research across the scientific spectrum.

Fusion energy science is a multi-disciplinary field focused on the science needed to develop an energy source based on a controlled thermonuclear fusion reaction. Creating conditions for fusion on Earth involves generating and sustaining a plasma. Plasmas are gases that are so hot that electrons are freed from atomic nuclei. Researchers use electric and magnetic fields to control the resulting collection of ions and electrons because they have electrical charges. At sufficiently high temperatures, ions can overcome repulsive electrostatic forces and fuse together. Additionally, you have to manually go in and assign each lesson, activity, test or video for your child.
This is a completely interactive text/workbook with matching online lessons. Plus, since many households are not equipped for a wide variety of science experiments, there are virtual experiments included with the online access. I have my first-grader do the book lesson one day, the digital lesson for review on another day, then a third day for hands-on experiments.
